The Art Institute of Chicago is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Chicago. Founded in 1879 it's one of the biggest and oldest museums in the United States. The museum has about 1.5 visitors a year and around 300,000 pieces of art. The current location has been held since 1893, which is the location that was proposed for the Chicago World Fair.
