Beatnik

Beatnik is a new restaurant and cocktail lounge in West Town (Corner of Chicago and Ashland.) This place is big on atmosphere. It felt like a Bohemian garden with a ton of greenery, Moroccan tile and candles and chandeliers everywhere. We even sat in a daybed transported here from Bali.   Beatnik is the newest restaurant from the Bonhomme Hospitality Group (Celeste, Black Bull and Fulton Market Kitchen.) Manning the open kitchen are executive chef Marcos Campos and chef Jonathan Meyer. "The globe-spanning menu is an international dinner party," says Campos. Sushi-San

  Hand rolls and hip hop! Fresh fish and fresh beats! Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises has done it once again. From the team behind Ramen-San, Sushi-San serves fish, tons of sushi, customizable hand rolls, roasted meats and more. The restaurant's menu from chef Kaze Chan includes nigiri bombs, sashimi sets, tempura and late-night yakisoba. Just like their sibling restaurant Ramen-San, they're also open late, until 1am on Friday and Saturday. They offer 5 signature cocktails as well as whiskies, wines, sakes and beers. KATANA

Katana, LA's Japanese import is now in Chicago. Katana sushi & restaurant provides luxury dining in River North. Katana is located right by the famous Marina City Towers and the Hotel Chicago. The Sunset Strip restaurant debuted in 2002 in LA, built a loyal following of stars and has been successful ever since. They then opened a second location in Dubai in 2015 and now Chicago in 2017. The robatayaki uses charcoal from Japan, and the sushi aims to innovate. They also offer Japanese whiskey, cocktails and sake. If you go, you have to try the carnival dessert.
