More than a year after leaving The Lettuce Entertain You restaurant group, Chef Doug Psaltis has returned with Andros Taverna, a Greek inspired restaurant in Logan Square. "This is a passion project we've been working on for years," said Psaltis. "I grew up eating the food at grandfathers Greek diner (Olympia Diner) and traveling around Greece. The restaurant is really based on family and traditional recipes through a contemporary lens." Psaltis' wife, Hsing Chen, is the pastry chef at the restaurant and said "We met while working together, we don't know anything else. We worked in several restaurants in various cities together. It's what we know and what we love. It works for us." Chen says to look for pastry items like an olive and pistachio twist danish and a chocolate halva tart. Andros Taverna is open Tuesday through Friday 4-11pm and Saturday and Sunday 10am-11pm and is located at 2542 N. Milwaukee Ave.
